Things To Do At Home

By in Home Entertaining with 0 Comments

No matter where you turn, you’ll find news coverage of COVID-19. While we have yet to be placed under lockdown, Americans all over the country are practicing social distancing. So whether you’re stuck inside from a rainy day or implementing social distancing, here’s some ideas to help keep yourself busy through these unique times!

Pick up a hobby

Have you always wanted to learn those four guitar chords? Or maybe finally pick up arm knitting? Great news! Now is the time. Make a list and prioritize which hobbies you’ve always wanted to try. Even if you end up ditching the hobby at the end of all this, studies show that learning new skills can boost brain activity. Pretty awesome!

Get to work on your house

Spring cleaning has never seemed like so much fun. Everyone has that room that they’ve been meaning to get to, from organizing the kitchen pantry to finally touching up the paint in your hallway. Or maybe it’s time you tackle the garage. You’ll need to take inventory of supplies to minimize trips to the stores, so start with projects that you already have materials for. Then you can begin to weigh your options to venturing out for nonessential items.

Stay connected

This is an easy time to feel isolated, and even a bit scared. While staying informed is important, its equally important to keep a level head and anxiety levels low. Check the news periodically throughout the day but not obsessively.

Feeling alienated from your family and friends? With today’s technology, it’s simple to start a group text thread or a video share. Ask them what they’ve been doing with their time from their favorite books to digital activities.
