San Diego Spring Home Maintenance

By in Home Maintenance with 0 Comments

‘Tis the season…for spring cleaning! Whether you are looking to spruce up your living space or get ready for the busy selling season, we’ve got a great checklist for San Diego spring home maintenance.

San Diego Spring Home Maintenance

Spring weather tends to bring out buyers. Many families are gearing up for a move during the summer so that it is easier for their children to switch schools. It also doesn’t hurt that the weather during this time of year is beautiful!

Here are some steps you can take to get your home sparkling for the selling season, or simply for you to enjoy the heck out of your home.

Gutters

Typically your San Diego spring home maintenance is less strenuous than in other parts of the country. With that being said, we had quite the rainy season in early 2019. You may find your gutters more full than usual so don’t leave this item off your list. A clogged gutter can mean potential water damage to your home. The rain isn’t quite over yet so get to cleaning those gutters!

Dryer Vent

Little bits of lint can travel beyond the lint trap, sneaking their way into the dryer vent. It’s a good idea to check your dryer seasonally. Cleaning this will help the dryer run more efficiently which can lead to savings on your electric bill. A plugged dryer vent also poses potential danger, increasing your risk of fire.

Get Rolling (On Your Walls!)

Painting is an easy way to freshen up the home, especially before selling your home during the spring season. Take a look around the inside and the outside of the home, and don’t leave any fences behind. A touch up here and there can really make a difference in a room if you aren’t in the mood to repaint the whole house. You can also focus your initial efforts on common areas such as your kitchen or living room.

Seals

Cracked seals around the house can lead to a couple issues. Not only will your poorly sealed home not keep in the cool air (or warm air, depending on the season), it is also at risk of water damage. Take the time to make sure these seals are fixed and you may even find you save on your air-conditioning bill.
