Denver Nuggets’ JaVale McGee Buys Vegas Bachelor Pad
Denver Nuggets center JaVale McGee likes to have fun on and off the basketball court. His outgoing personality and in-game antics have been well documented: Deadspin has a “That’s So JaVale” tag on their blog, and he’s a two-time MVP of Shaqtin’ a Fool.
So it’s no surprise that the fun-loving McGee bought a condo smack dab on the Las Vegas Strip. When you consider how much he paid for the place back in October, McGee probably celebrated his purchase with a fingerstache.
McGee paid 0,000 for the condo at Panorama Towers, located on the southern end of Las Vegas Blvd. The condo originally went for sale back in November 2013 for 9,000. With the cash he saved, McGee can continue to give handouts to the homeless as they sleep.
His new 2,406-square-foot condo is a killer bachelor pad. Since it’s on the 21st floor, it has a dazzling view of Vegas. One side of the home is all windows, although the view from the living room is slightly obstructed by the other Panorama Tower. The view gets better if you move into the dining room and kitchen.
The kitchen is a good size, but honestly, do you really expect McGee to do much cooking? It does have modern stainless steel appliances, granite counters and a breakfast bar.
Walk through the kitchen, and you’ll find a sitting area that could be considered a family room. It’s easy to imagine McGee setting up a large-screen HDTV and some comfy chairs for some serious Xbox One action.
The condo has two bedrooms, each with a full bathroom. The master bedroom is actually on the side of the building that faces the mountains—a side that’s much quieter than the side facing the Strip. The master bathroom comes with a jet tub, which could come in handy after intense off-season workouts.
Speaking of workouts, the large gym in the building is just one of the great amenities of the property. There’s also a yoga studio, pool, spa, poker room, conference room, media room, a concierge and limo service.
Basketball-wise, 2014 hasn’t been so much fun for McGee. Last season, he unfortunately broke his leg. McGee recently experienced pain the the same leg and is off to a slow start this year.
His NBA career started in 2008 as the 18th pick overall by the Washington Wizards. He was traded to Denver in March 2012. McGee attended the University of Nevada in Reno, so he is familiar with the state of Nevada.
