Comedian Artie Lange Lists New Jersey Home Yet Again
Artie Lange has had his share of ups and downs in life, but the comedian still finds a way to make his devoted fans laugh. Not so funny, however, is the fact that he’s been trying to sell his Toms River waterfront estate in New Jersey for over four years.
Listed by Lawrence Vecchio, the house has a long history of price reductions. When Lange first put it up for sale in late 2010, the price was $3.5 million. After three reductions since then, the property now is available for $2.5 million—he paid $2.45 million for the home in when it was built in 2008.
The house is a boater’s dream, situated right on the edge of Silver Bay. There’s direct access to the pier dock from the backyard, which has a pool and a patio for entertaining. The back of the property has a direct view of Cattus Island County Park, located across the bay to the south.
When entering the home, you’ll notice a foyer with decorative molding, and you can walk past the stairs and follow the travertine tile to the living room—a wide open space that’s drenched in sunlight during the day, thanks to the large windows that open a view to the bay.
The 5,301-square-foot home has five bedrooms, with four bedrooms (including the master) located on the second floor. All of the second floor bedrooms have wide-plank hardwood floors and a full bathroom, and three of the bedrooms have access to the second-floor balcony that stretches along the back of the house.
The nautical-themed navy blue paint throughout the first floor is hard to ignore. The colors in the bedrooms aren’t necessarily for everyone, either. It’ll cost some money and labor, but remember, walls can always be repainted.
The kitchen is designed for someone who loves to cook. There’s plenty of counter space to work and lots of cabinets for storage. Guests can sit at the counter while the cook is hovering over the stove, and a breakfast nook with its bay windows provides a view of the front of the house.
To top off the house—literally—is a third floor, which Lange has called his Man Cave. Described in the listing as a rec room, the third floor space is complete with a wet bar, enough room for a pool table and a balcony. Seen in the clip below, it’s not clear if the table with the built-in cooler and the installed cigar box are transferred with the house.
Lange started as a stand-up comedian in 1986 and is best know for his eight-year radio stint on the Howard Stern Show. He was a member of the inaugural cast on “MADtv” and has made numerous appearances on television and in movies. His radio show, the Artie Lange Show, ran from 2011 to 2014, and Lange is currently on tour performing stand-up while also working on The Artie Quitter Podcast.
